近日,華中農(nóng)業(yè)大學(xué)農(nóng)業(yè)產(chǎn)業(yè)與技術(shù)經(jīng)濟(jì)研究團(tuán)隊(duì)發(fā)表了關(guān)于互聯(lián)網(wǎng)使用對(duì)農(nóng)業(yè)生產(chǎn)技術(shù)效率影響的研究成果。該研究以中國(guó)香蕉生產(chǎn)為例,利用626個(gè)香蕉種植戶調(diào)查數(shù)據(jù),分析了農(nóng)戶互聯(lián)網(wǎng)使用對(duì)香蕉生產(chǎn)技術(shù)效率的影響,以 “Does internet use improve technical efficiency of banana production in China? Evidence from a selectivity-corrected analysis”為題,發(fā)表于國(guó)際農(nóng)林經(jīng)濟(jì)管理權(quán)威期刊Food Policy。
近年來(lái),農(nóng)村地區(qū)互聯(lián)網(wǎng)普及率逐漸提高,互聯(lián)網(wǎng)使用成為農(nóng)民獲取生產(chǎn)信息的重要途徑。盡管許多研究已經(jīng)分析了互聯(lián)網(wǎng)使用對(duì)農(nóng)業(yè)績(jī)效和農(nóng)村發(fā)展的影響,但對(duì)互聯(lián)網(wǎng)使用與作物生產(chǎn)技術(shù)效率之間的關(guān)系仍知之甚少。為彌補(bǔ)這一不足,該研究以香蕉為例,分析了互聯(lián)網(wǎng)使用對(duì)作物生產(chǎn)技術(shù)效率的影響。
該研究結(jié)合使用傾向得分匹配與Greens‘(2010)的隨機(jī)前沿模型來(lái)處理選擇性偏誤問(wèn)題,使用分?jǐn)?shù)回歸模型與無(wú)條件分位數(shù)回歸模型估計(jì)了互聯(lián)網(wǎng)使用和其他控制變量對(duì)農(nóng)業(yè)生產(chǎn)技術(shù)效率的同質(zhì)性和異質(zhì)性影響。在控制由可觀測(cè)因素和不可觀測(cè)因素造成的選擇性偏誤后,分位數(shù)回歸模型證實(shí)互聯(lián)網(wǎng)使用對(duì)作為生產(chǎn)的技術(shù)效率有著同質(zhì)的正向影響;無(wú)條件分位數(shù)回歸模型證實(shí)互聯(lián)網(wǎng)使用對(duì)技術(shù)效率存在異質(zhì)性影響,互聯(lián)網(wǎng)使用對(duì)技術(shù)效率值處在較低分位點(diǎn)的香蕉種植戶的效率提升作用更大。
該研究的相關(guān)結(jié)論強(qiáng)調(diào)了在農(nóng)村地區(qū)促進(jìn)互聯(lián)網(wǎng)使用以提升農(nóng)業(yè)生產(chǎn)績(jī)效的重要性,并為如何促進(jìn)農(nóng)戶互聯(lián)網(wǎng)使用和提高農(nóng)業(yè)生產(chǎn)技術(shù)效率提供了決策依據(jù)。

Although many studies have analyzed the Internet use effects on farm performance and rural development, little is known about the relationship between Internet use and technical efficiency (TE) of crop production. This paper fills the gap by analyzing the impact of Internet use on the TE of banana production in China, using an innovative approach that combines a propensity score matching technique with Greene's (2010) selectivity-corrected stochastic frontier model to address selectivity bias. We employ both the fractional regression (FR) model and the unconditional quantile regression (UQR) model to, respectively, investigate the homogeneous and heterogeneous TE effects of Internet use and other control variables. After correcting for selectivity bias stemming from both observed and unobserved factors, we show that the TE scores of Internet users and nonusers are 0.571 and 0.537, respectively. The results of the FR model show that Internet use exerts a homogeneous positive impact on TE of banana production. In contrast, the UQR results reveal that TE effects of Internet use are heterogeneous, and the Internet users at the lower TE quantiles receive higher TE than their counterparts at higher TE quantiles. Our findings underscore the importance of promoting Internet use in rural areas to boost farm performance.
